How Happitech Works
Photophlethysmography (PPG) basics
- PPG is a simple technique to detect volumetric changes in the blood in the peripheral circulation
- Blood absorbs light and each pulse increases the blood flow in the body and fingertips.
- It is therefore possible to keep track of changes in Heart Rate by measuring the changes in light absorption.
PPG visualised

Clinician-facing Report
1. Data Highlights Most important data points giving an instant overview including Heart Rhythm, Average Heart Rate, patient reported symptoms at the time of measurement, and measurement reliability
2. Poincaré Plot Showing the relationship between the two successive inter beat intervals. The better they are correlated the more regular the heart rate is.
3. RR Tachogram The y-axis shows the interval between beats and on the right the corresponding heart rate is shown. As the heart rate goes up, the data points are lower on the graph.
4. PPG Graph The PPG graph shows filtered pulse rate variations and quality of the signal during the measurement.
